Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens talked about his dissent in District of Columbia v. Heller, a case that held the Second Amendment protected an individual’s right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes. Following his speech he answered questions from the moderator on Citizens United v. FEC, the use of history in constitutional decision making, the value of oral arguments, and other topics.
