Louise Knight talked about her forthcoming book Jane Addams: Spirit in Action (W. W. Norton & Company, 2010). In the only recent full-length biography of Jane Addams (1860-1935) she tells how starting in Chicago as a co-founder of the nation's first settlement house, Hull House, Jane Addams became a grassroots organizer and international activist who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931.

She was interviewed in the Digitally Lit Room II of the Chicago Tribune Printers Row Lit Fest. The program opened and closed with street scenes from the festival.
