Jason Meszaros talked about his memoir Interrogation of Morals (Lulu.com; April 10, 2009) at a "Remembering 9/11" event held in the East Room of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens explained that jurisdictional boundaries between law enforcement agencies have been reduced significantly since the attacks, increasing inter-agency cooperation. Bruce Herschensohn, a former staff assistant to President Nixon, discussed subjects ranging from the bravery of New York City police and firefighters to criticism of tactics used by the CIA. Citing the first World Trade Center attack and the subsequent September 11 attacks as an example, he also warned against the dangers of forgetting.

Army Captain Jason Meszaros (Ret.), an Army intelligence officer who served in Bosnia, as well as Afghanistan, described his reaction to the attacks. He then detailed in general terms his mission in Afghanistan to transform the longterm ideological perspective of that society. He also talked about his work with veterans and how he came to write his book.

Also included in the ceremony were the Pledge of Allegiance, a Marine Color Guard, and musical presentations by the Villa Park High School Concert Band and a mass choir featuring the Orange High School Concert Choir and Chamber Singers and the Orange Community Master Choral.
