The co-chairs of the Annual Meeting 2008 of the World Economic Forum gave their perspectives on the theme of the meeting at the issues on the agenda. The principle theme of the meeting was "The Power of Collaborative Innovation". Topics included the growing economic power of the middle east, the growing tension in that region, and the economic benefits of globalization.
