Education Secretary Arne Duncan talked about the need to fix No Child Left Behind Act. He acknowledged the budgetary constraints state governments were facing and noted the Education Department’s increasing emphasis on providing states with more flexibility to deal with educational issues. This was the first day of a three-day meeting of over 50 governors from the states, commonwealths and territories. close
