Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) and anti-smoking activists talked about initiatives for reducing teen smoking. He asserted that tobacco companies have “cynically targeted” American youth to persuade them to begin smoking. Senator Kennedy’s legislation is designed to reaffirm the FDA’s ability to label tobacco a drug, limit vending machine sales of tobacco and begin an anti-smoking media campaign. close
