Two of the the three candidates seeking the position of New York City mayor answered questions on their platforms for the election to be held November 2. The Republican party candidate, Mr. Giuliani, did not take part in the debate. Mr. Marlin stated that he and Mayor Dinkins are diametrically opposed on every issue concerning New York City. While Mayor Dinkins believes that government is the answer, Mr. Marlin contends that government is the problem. He added that voters certainly have a choice in the upcoming election. Following the debate, several journalists critiqued it and stated that Mr. Marlin is unlikely to capture a large percentage of the electorate.
