Janet Yellen, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, spoke about the U.S. economy. In her remarks she said she does not believe government efforts to stimulate the economy will lead to inflation but believes unemployment will remain “painfully” high for several years. Ms. Yellen is said to be a candidate to replace Federal Reserve Vice Chair Donald Kohn. close
