As part of a series of forums on the education, military career and presidency of Dwight Eisenhower, Eisenhower Library archivists described various aspects of then-General Eisenhower’s role in World War II. President Roosevelt appointed Eisenhower commander of Operation Overlord, the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Eisenhower’s relations with his British and Russian counterparts were detailed. The sound system in the forum room was poor during the middle portion of the program. close
