Mr. McDonnell spoke on man’s advances into space to lead off the 1992 World Space Congress meeting in Washington, DC. The meeting brought together scientists and engineers in the space industry to discuss the future of space exploration and the goals of current space research and technological advances. Vice President Quayle lauded the technological accomplishments created through space research, and pledged that space would remain a top priority of the Bush administration. Mr. Runyon dedicated a commemorative stamp in honor of Theodore von Karman, an aerospace scientist in the early years of the U.S. space program. close
