John Gage talked about the impact on the federal workforce of the debt ceiling agreement and the joint congressional Select Committee on Deficit Reduction created by the deal. He also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Topics include jobs elimination, pay, salary, and hiring freezes; and other reductions in benefits. 
Mr. Gage’s organization, the American Federation of Government Employees, represents 600,000 federal and Washington, D.C., government workers nationwide and overseas.
