Governor Keating and Mr. Wimmer read and discussed their picture book biography of Oklahoma native Will Rogers. The book, published by Harcourt, follows Rogers from his childhood in Indian Territory and through his careers as a cowboy, an entertainer, and a newspaper columnist. Known for his wise and witty sayings, Will Rogers is quoted throughout the book. The author and illustrator shared the stage with various portraits of Will Rogers, and a Power Point presentation of the book’s illustrations was shown during the reading. After the auditorium presentation, Governor Keating and Mr. Wimmer joined 5th grade students in a classroom for a brief question and answer period.
