The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) held an open meeting on ways to improve wireless coverage and wi-fi technology through use of signal boosters. Commissioners acted on expanding availability of high frequency airwaves or spectrum to unlicensed devices. Chair Julius Genachowski said the proposed rules and expansion would make wi-fi exchanges much faster and meet the growing demand of consumer connectivity through multiple devices. close
