Josh Earnest answered questions on a variety of issues. He confirmed that American Jeffrey Fowle had been released from North Korea and “is on his way home to re-join his family.” Two other Americans were still being held in North Korea. Press Secretary Earnest also told reporters that imposing an Ebola travel ban would only put Americans at greater risk, as some passengers might opt to travel “underground". Topics included the Department of Homeland Security announcement earlier in the day that passengers traveling from Ebola-stricken countries would have to fly into one of five major U.S. airports, "Ebola czar” Ron Klain’s position, midterm elections, Iranian nuclear weapons, and terrorists. close
