Houston Baker, author of Betrayal: How Black Intellectuals Have Abandoned the Ideals of the Civil Rights Era (Columbia University Press; April 1, 2008), talked about what he is reading. His list included books by Ann Patchett, The Professor's Daughter by Emily Rabateau, and Barbara Ehrenreich's Nickel and Dimed: On Not Making It in America.
