Michael Weisskopf spoke about losing his hand in a grenade attack while covering the war in Iraq for Time magazine and he spoke about his fellow amputees on “ward 57” at Walter Reed Army Hospital. The injury happened in December 2003 while Mr. Weisskopf was embedded with the First Armored Division in Baghdad. He is the author of Blood Brothers: Among the Soldiers of Ward 57, published by Henry Holt and Co. close
