Hasia Diner talked about her book We Remember with Reverence and Love: American Jews and the Myth of Silence after the Holocaust, 1945-1962 (NYU Press; April 1, 2009). Professor Diner contends that contrary to popular history, Jewish Americans did publicly memorialize the Holocaust following World War II and prior to the Eichmann trial in 1961. She presents evidence in the form of literature, public displays, and song to support her argument. She responded to questions from members of the audience.
