Ms. Norman talked about her book We Band of Angels: The Untold Story of American Nurses Trapped on Bataan by the Japanese, published by Random House. The book relates the stories of Army and Navy nurses that evacuated Manila, Philippines, while under attack by the Japanese and their establishment of a jungle hospital for the numerous casualties. They were eventually captured and imprisoned by the Japanese.
