Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment John Harwood, Wall Street Journal Political Correspondent discussed Congress and other topics. In the newspaper roundtable, Representative Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) and Representative Henry Bonilla (R-TX) discussed the headline stories. Michael Williamson, newspaper photographer of the year winner, and Morris Berman, National Press Photographers Association Founder talked about the National Press Photographers Association and about photojournalism. In the last segment, former Chief Justice Burger clerk Bruce Rosenblum discussed the major decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Warren Burger who recently died. close
