Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Leubsdorf talked about the morning headlines including international issues and the presidential elections. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Blankley and Mr. McCurry talked about current issues including the Southeast Asian situation and the U.S. presidential campaigns. In the next segment, Mr. Perot talked about campaign reform, his perspective on political issues, and the Progressive Party.
