Current news events and political issues were exaimined through reviews of the morning newspaper; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Dorf and Mr. Gellman by telephone talked about various aspects of the death of Prime Minister Rabin. In the next segment, Mr. Gellman and Mr. Moffitt talked further about the Rabin assassination and its impact on the Middle East peace process. Ms. Corbin briefly joined the discussion by telephone. In the next segment, Mr. Fram talked about the current status of the federal budget in Congress. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Leo and Mr. Fulwood talked about the Rabin funeral, Colin Powell’s possible candidacy and other issues. close
