Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. Jessica Lee, USA Today talked about drug issues and other headline stories. Kenneth Kato, National Archives displayed documents related to the censure of President Andrew Jackson in 1834 for removing funds from the Bank of the United States. Representative Paul Kanjorski (D-PA) and Representative Zach Wamp (R-TN) debated issues in the morning headline stories and the recent controversial hearing in which the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee approved its final report of its investigation into the firings at the White House Travel Office. Bob Fuss, Mutual/NBC Radio discussed the congressional agenda. Representative Mark Neumann (R-WI) and Representative Julian Dixon (D-CA) discussed the federal appropriations process. close
