Kevin Sites talked about his work as a solo journalist and how that helps him be more mobile, responsive, and tell stories more intimately. He is a correspondent for Yahoo! News who reports, shoots and edits his own reports when covering conflicts around the world. These reports appear on his web site “In the Hot Zone: One Man, One Year, Twenty Wars.” He talked about the structure and purpose of his reports and a video montage of his reports was shown. Topics included how he began using the Internet to tell his news stories more fully, journalistic ethics, how he became the first news correspondent for Yahoo!, and using the diffent types of media appropriately. He responded to questions from the students.

This talk, “'Sojo,' Yahoo’s Blogger and Multimedia International War Reporter, Speaks on In the Hot Zone: One Man, One Year, Twenty Wars,” was part of a “How Journalists Work” series at the USC Annenberg School for Communication. close
