Military historian Gregory Hospodor spoke about the year-long campaign by the Union Army and Navy to take Vicksburg, the last Confederate stronghold on the Mississippi River. He talked about Union General Ulysses S. Grant’s series of strategic maneuvers that led to a prolonged siege and ultimately the fall of the fortified city on July 4, 1863.
