Jay Cost talked about his book, Spoiled Rotten: How the Politics of Patronage Corrupted the Once Noble Democratic Party and Now Threatens the American Republic, and responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. In the book he details his belief that the Democratic Party has shifted away from being “the people’s party” to working on behalf of special interests such as unions. He also responded to the news of the day and issues he has covered in the Weekly Standard, including Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital and the economy. Mr. Cost participated from Pittsburgh.
