Bill Lann Lee talked about the reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.

After holding ten hearings last year, the National Commission on the Voting Rights Act today is releasing its report, “Protecting Minority Voters: The Voting Rights Act, 1982-2005,” on its findings of voter discrimination nationwide. Certain provisions of the Voting Rights Act are set to expire August 6, 2007, unless Congress renews them. A House Judiciary Subcommittee plans to continue its hearings on the Act next month. close
