The National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) released reports on the growth of the Latino population in the U.S., Hispanic candidates running for office, and the effects on Latino voters of voter identification laws passed since 2010. Mr. Vargas presented these reports with slides. After his briefing political strategists analyzed key races around the country where Latino candidates were involved and the role of the Latino vote in the presidential election, including stances on immigration. They responded to questions from members of the audience at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
