President Obama announced several policy initiatives aimed at reducing domestic violence. Speakers included former Major League Baseball manager and survivor of domestic abuse Joe Torre and the White House’s Council of Women and Girls Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett. Vice President Joe Biden, who helped draft the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 also attended.
