Moderated by Mr. Fuller, the panelists discussed books they have written about the Vietnam War and its aftermath. After their presentations they responded to audience members' questions.

Philip Caputo wrote A Rumor of War (1976) and many subsequent novels. Jack Fuller wrote the novel Fragments (1984). Larry Heinemann wrote the National Book Award-winning Paco’s Story (1986). Robert Olen Butler wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Good Scent From a Strange Mountain (1992).
