The subcommittee heard testimony on an American delegation’s investigation into reports that American POW’s from the Korean and Vietnam Wars were held in the Soviet Union and might still be held in Soviet prisons. Russian President Yeltsin, during a recent visit to the U.S., said information in Soviet files indicated that American POW’s had once been held in the Soviet Union before being sent on to China. close
