Dr. Harrison discussed her book, Driving the Soviets Up the Wall: Soviet-East German Relations, 1953-1961, published by Princeton University Press. She analyzed the relationship between the Soviet Union and East German leaders during the Cold War and argued that East Germany persuaded Soviet leader Nikita Kruschev to build the Berlin Wall. She augmented her discussion with correspondence between leaders of the two countries and other documents. Following her presentation she responded to questions from members of the audience.
