Bill Miller, the former ambassador to the Ukraine under President Clinton and a scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center, talked to students about the presidential election and the role of internal and international media in political environment surrounding the election. In December 2004, Viktor Yushchenko, as an opposition candidate, was elected Ukrainian president after previous election results had been nullified by the Ukrainian Supreme Court following voter fraud and manipulation in favor of the pro-Russian government. close
