Following a dedication of the Stanford University Law School atrium, justices talked about judicial systems in other countries. They focused on ways of extending the concept of the rule of law beyond national borders. Among the issues they addressed were institutions and programs to build and maintain judicial independence, maintaining legal standards in multicultural or multinational systems, and Europe’s experiences in establishing a judiciary. After their discussion they answered questions from the audience.
