U.S.-Russia Relations

Presidents Clinton and Yeltsin walked together into the Roosevelt Room and sat beside each other at a table to sign two agreements, one on strategic arms stability and the other on joint economic progress. Following the signing, they stood up to shake hands and to observe Treasury Secretary Bentsen and the director of Russian customs sign a mutual customs assistance agreement. The two Presidents delivered statements of mutual congratulations on progress made at their summit meetings, after which they took questions from U.S. and Russian members of the press.
