President Bush spoke to the Israeli Parliament in commemoration of Israel’s 60th anniversary. In his remarks he talked about Israel’s history, the relationship between the U.S. and Israel, as well as the future security of the Middle East and Israel’s role in it. He also criticized those who favored negotiations with Iran and Islamist groups, comparing their position to the appeasement policies of England and Europe toward Hitler in the years preceding World War II.

The Israeli Prime Minister and Opposition leader spoke about U.S. support for Israel, combatting terrorism, Iran, the sovereignty of Jerusalem, and the rocket fired from Gaza the previous day. close
