Werner Hoyer talked about global perceptions of the U.S., and its diminishing ability to influence international policy. He talked about recent efforts to gain allies and generate favorable public opinion in the Islamic world. He called for both an internal and international dialogue to better define American interests and its traditional emphasis of democratic institutions advocating principles of freedom. His presentation was followed by a question and answer session moderated by Steve Clemons. close
