The subcommittee heard testimony on how the various branches of the armed services could work together to meet upcoming conventional war needs. The discussion was centered on how to most effectively use each branch’s weapon systems in light of the current cutbacks in defense spending. An emphasis on Joint programs for multiple services was discussed. Interoperability, technology leaps and costs were some of the specifics the panel brought to the committee. close
