Federal Reserve System Chairman Ben Bernanke talked about the economy and federal intervention in the financial markets at a luncheon meeting of The Economic Club of New York. In his remarks he warned that continuing turmoil in credit markets would not immediately lead to economic recovery and the recovery process might be slow. He was then questioned by Martin Feldstein and Henry Kaufman. Glenn Hubbard presided. close
