Pat Buchanan talked about relations between the U.S. and China. He described atrocities committed by the Chinese government against its own citizens. He described contradictions in the Clinton administration policy toward China, saying that other nations which commit human rights violations and steal missile defense information would be treated differently. He said that the policy toward China should be tougher, particularly to protect Taiwan from Chinese aggression, but that confrontation should be avoided. He took questions from the audience. close
