Witnesses testified about a plan to provide a $1.6 billion aid package to Colombia to assist in efforts to end the drug trade. The emergency spending package would train and equip Colombian police forces, provide for alternate economic development, increase interdiction efforts, and assist with human rights efforts. Ambassador Moreno said that he supported the plan and spoke about on-going efforts in Colombia to fight the drug war. close
