United Kingdom public policy representatives from Google, Facebook, and Twitter testified at a British Home Affairs Committee hearing on their companies' approaches to countering terrorism. Topics included content reporting policies, cooperation with law enforcement, and how terrorists use social media as a recruitment tool.

The second panel dealt with the Syrian refugee crisis. The witnesses were representatives from two U.K. organizations dealing with the radicalization of young people. They answered questions regarding the role of schools and teachers in preventing extremism, the warning signs of radicalization, and criticisms of the government’s de-radicalization program, called Prevent. close
