Participants commented on a World Trade Organization on U.S. trade policy regarding sea turtle preservation. A World Trade Organization dispute resolution panel said that a U.S. law which prohibits the import of shrimp from nations which do not require the use of turtle excluder devices by fisherman. They criticized the ruling for endangering species and retarding U.S. efforts to spread international environmental norms. close
