Former Representative Hamilton spoke about American cynicism about government and about what government leaders could do to gain more trust and respect. He said that Congress should abandon omnibus spending measures to ensure more efficient appropriations, argued for more systematic oversight, and said that government officials should do a better job in educating American about how government works. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
