Jeff Hobbs talked about his book, The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace: A Brilliant Young Man Who Left Newark for the Ivy League, in which he recounts the life and death of his college roommate, Robert Peace, who was raised in a poor neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey, and attended Yale University. In his book, the author recalls Robert Peace’s difficulty transitioning from Yale to Newark and back again over his four years in school, and explores how class, race, family, and community affected the late biochemistry student. Jeff Hobbs spoke at Greenlight Bookstore in Brooklyn, New York. close
