U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman testified on the Obama administration’s trade policy agenda. He said he expected to finish negotiations on a trade deal amongst Pacific nations in 2014, but Japan’s insistence on protecting certain parts of its economy was holding up the process. Committee Chair Dave Camp (R-MI) called on President Obama to step up his support for a new Trade Promotion Authority bill establishing specific rules for passing trade agreements. close
