Witnesses testified about delivery systems for digital and high definition television signals, as well as provisions of the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed National Broadband Plan. They focused on the use of set-top boxes and other mobile or computing devices, noting disparities in the market for the different types of devices. The proposed plan would open markets and encourage innovation in the manufacturing of set-top boxes to increase availability of broadband to more Americans. close
