Carol and Tom Wheeler talked about their experiences working for the Obama for presidential campaign in Ames, Iowa, the previous year. They also responded to questions from students in the audience. Carol Wheeler was also the Obama campaign’s outreach coordinator to the Irish-American community. Tom Wheeler was a member of the Obama-Biden Transition Project’s Agency Review Working Group responsible for the science, technology, space and arts agencies. They met in the 1980's while working for different television-lobbying groups; Tom headed the National Cable Television Association and Carol worked for the National Association of Broadcasters.
