Secretary Shalala and Mr. Reed met with reporters following a meeting at the White House concerning the tobacco industry settlement. Mr. Reed said that the goal of reducing child smoking is going to be a difficult one to reach but government must help in that effort. Mr. Schiffman, Mr. Warner, Mr. Henningfield and Mr. Kozloswski also gave their views. close
