David Blum talked about his book Tick...Tick...Tick...: The Long Life and Turbulent Times of 60 Minutes, published by HarperCollins. In it he reviewed the history of the news program “60 Minutes,” the longest running primetime show on television. While researching the book, Mr. Blum spent a considerable amount of time at the offices of “60 Minutes” examining the degree of newsroom competitiveness and infighting between the on-air personalities. He also shared stories about Mike Wallace, Leslie Stahl, Diane Sawyer, Steve Kroft, and others. Mr. Blum also talked about a scandal involving Dan Rather, President Bush’s Vietnam record, and the scandal’s fallout. Following his remarks, Mr. Blum answered questions from members of the audience. close
