Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. Time Magazine reporter Elaine Shannon talked about the recent death of an American woman in Israel and the imprisonment of two U.S. citizens in Iraq. In the newspaper roundtable, Joe Klein, of Newsweek, and Forbes Media Critic Terry Eastland discussed headlines from various papers across the country. In a point-counterpoint discussion, Michael Carvin, of the Shaw Pittman Law Firm, and Anthony Robinson, President of the Minority Business Legal Defense Fund, discussed minority business set-asides. Representative Bob Dornan (R-California) and his son talked about his presidential candidacy. close
